Religions for Equality

Group Description

We are Jewish, Christian, Buddhist and other religious people of faith and practice. Under the motto 'Religions for Equality' we will walk with our communities in the Vienna Gay Pride Parade. As religious communities, we have joined together to jointly set a strong mark of acceptance and respect for LGBTIQ * persons in Vienna and throughout Austria. We want to promote the coexistence of people of different sexual orientations, gender identities and religions, sensitize people to discrimination, and reduce prejudice and intolerance in our communities and society. Together we want to send a clear signal to show that people of different sexual orientations and identities are supported and encouraged by religions and religious organizations. We want to make this positive approach visible, especially in the rainbow parade.

Entry Description

As a diverse group of people of different faiths and practices we will unitedly march behind the banner "Religions for Equality". Each faith and practice group will also be identifiable through its members wearing t-shirts saying "Another Jew/Christian/Buddhist/etc. for LGBTIQ* Equality". Accompanied by bikes, we will also be playing music.e
